Start your adventure where Ernest Shackleton's story began. Our race begins and ends at the stunning Shackleton Museum in Athy's vibrant town centre, a fitting tribute to the spirit of exploration and endurance that defines both our event and this historic County Kildare town.

Challenge yourself on our
scenic closed-road course (over 18 only)
The perfect stepping stone distance with all the atmosphere
Family-friendly and welcoming
to all ages and abilities
Our unique course design means spectators can support runners at different points around the course.
Spectators can watch runners at 1.5k out from town, then make it back to the finish line to cheer them home - creating an incredible atmosphere throughout the race.
